Interested individuals or families should complete the Commemorative Dedication Form. If paying with a check, please make the check payable to the City of Aurora. After the bench is placed or tree is planted, donors will receive a letter of confirmation from the Parks and Recreation Office.

The City of Aurora’s Tree Commission is in the process of scouting the City of Aurora for Landmark Trees.
In order for the Tree Commission to designate a tree as a "Landmark Tree”, it must meet one of the following criteria:
1.
An outstanding specimen of a desirable species
2.
One of the largest or oldest trees in Aurora
3.
Of historical interest
4.
Of distinctive form
Because of the age and uniqueness of these trees, every effort should be made to preserve them. Landmark Trees should be memorialized and their noteworthiness made known to the public. Property owners and developers are asked to save these trees and to keep them in good condition for the benefit of present as well as future citizens of Aurora.
These trees may be located on private as well as public property. The Commission, with the permission of property owners, physically inspected each tree for soundness and health. All such trees would be sound, healthy specimens.
Any person who owns property in Aurora may apply to the Tree Commission in order to designate a tree on that property as a "Landmark Tree."
If you would like to designate one of your trees as a "Landmark Tree," call 330-562-4333, for an application.
In 1992, the City earned the national recognition for our Street Tree Program from the National Arbor Day Foundation. For 16 years, Aurora has continued to receive this annual award, and is known nationally as a “Tree City USA.”
