Projects

This page is intended to improve communication on status of projects that we are currently working on. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

The following projects are proposed in the 2010 budget.

Community Garden

We will be building a community garden at the Margaret Harmon property (1157 Page Road) in the fall of 2010 with plans to open for use in 2011 planting season. The plans include an 8’ high fence around 112 plots. Plots will be 20’ x 20’ and interested individuals can lease up to 3 plots from 1 to 3 years for $15 per plot per year. We will also have a water line with hose hook-ups. For more information, please check out our Community Garden web page

Conceptual Designs

We will be hiring a architectural design firms for conceptual designs for 3 projects at Sunny Lake Park. These projects are:
- 4-season building (similar to a lodge)
- Amphitheatre
- Concession Stand

The conceptual designs will provide an idea of the design, location and the construction cost estimate for each project to help in appropriating funds in the future. We have a $50,000 grant from the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission to aid in the costs for the construction of the amphitheatre.

Community Recreation Center

We will hire a consulting firm to assist with a feasibility study for a community recreation center. Some activity spaces to be considered in the center are:
- 25-yard Competition Pool
- Leisure Pool
- Aerobic Exercise Rooms
- Weight Room
- Gymnasium
- Walking Track
- Community Rooms

Additional Projects

- New dugouts for field #14 and refurbish dugouts at fields #12 & #13
- Extend electrical outlets and scoreboard connections to behind each backstop at fields #12 and #13
- Replace split rail fence at Liz Strahan Park
- Engineering design for Varsity Softball field in Kiwanis-Moore Park
